Home insurance costs $6,854, the fourth highest nationally, while auto insurance costs $1,799, ranking ninth. States with higher burdens include Mississippi, Oklahoma, Florida, and Louisiana. The lowest burdens are in Hawaii, New Hampshire, Vermont, Washington, and Alaska.
